Terms of Use

Last updated August 19, 2026

Agreement

These terms cover the sdedit macOS app and the website at sdedit.app. By downloading or using sdedit, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The app

sdedit lets you import video on a Mac, mark clips to keep or drop, split and trim, and export a file. You need macOS 14 or later and files your Mac can decode.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use sdedit on Mac computers you own or control.

Your responsibilities

  • Use the app only for lawful purposes.
  • You are responsible for the footage you import and for rights, privacy, and consent laws that apply to it.
  • You are responsible for your files and backups. Disks fail. Keep copies of anything that matters.
  • Do not reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the app except where the law does not allow us to restrict that.

Media

Editing happens on your Mac. Files are stored where you choose. See our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer

sdedit is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted export. We do not warrant that every codec will play, that every export will match the source, or that a given Mac will support every file you import.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost footage, failed exports, device damage, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of sdedit. Some places do not allow these limits; in those places, our liability is limited to what the law requires.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. The date at the top of this page is the latest version.
